Flute students are saying:

"Ms. Sarah is fun, creative and thoughtful.
She always makes sure I understand something before we move on."

- Harper, 9th grade flutist

"Since starting lessons with Sarah, I’ve become a way better player and I look at music in a better way. Ms. Sarah is really good at explaining
things I'm confused about."

- Judah, 10th grade flutist

What you'll learn in flute lessons

Of course we'll build a foundation in the fundamentals. Scales & arpeggios, rhythm, tone, technique, intonation, posture, music theory, ear training/listening, musicality, performance etiquette, music history, and more!

But in order to do all of that, we have to first learn to listen. We'll become aware of our own playing--what we really sound like. Then we'll discover what our "ideal" sound is and how to produce it.

We'll dig deep to use air effectively and find freedom to play with a big sound. We'll become CONFIDENT flutists.

Every note is important. Each one is shaped carefully and thoughtfully by the flutist, and matters. You'll gain a keen attention to detail as we discover all of the layers of control required to play the flute well.

You'll get all kinds of love and support from me and your studio mates as we perform for one another in Group Classes.

Nerves and anxiety will begin to melt away as you are confirmed and validated each week. And you'll have plenty of opportunity to practice performing with two recitals each year, and help to prepare solo/ensemble contest pieces, audition material, and group lesson/at-home performances.

Duets. Trios. Quartets. Oh My! We'll play flute ensemble music together and have all kinds of FUN fluting with friends.

Our recipe for success...
"Speaking with Ms. Sarah for just a moment, you immediately feel the passion she has for music and teaching kiddos!"
